Grief and the feelings associated with loss can be overwhelming. It can leave you wondering if you are ever going to feel anything but the pain and emptiness you feel right now. Sometimes it can reoccur much later, even years after an event where you are left feeling completely shocked at the depth of its impact.

It is really important to know there can be many reactions to grief and it is not always about feeling sad. It is also not always about just losing someone and can arise around any significant loss that you experience in your life.

For example, you may be grieving the person that you used to be or thought you might be. This might be associated with the loss of someone significant in your life but it also may not. You might feel depressed, lonely, angry, or find that you are resisting the truth of the reality that it has happened at all because it is just too difficult to bear.

Talking it through with someone to find a way through can really make a difference.

At Seeds of Life Counselling you will find a space where you can truly grieve and there are no expectations of how that process should look or time lines of when it should be done.

One of the many difficulties with grief and loss is that sometimes you feel like you cannot share how you really feel or what you think about with people close to you because you don’t want them to worry.
